Meet Amri. He’s 3. He’s a superhero. And he’s already proving just how strong he is.

Follow his SDR recovery journey, celebrate the wins, and see what’s possible one step at a time.

Meet Amri Kade

He's 3 and a half years old, born in Bedford, Texas, and currently living his best life in Roanoke. He knows exactly what he wants, exactly what he likes, and he will absolutely let you know if something doesn't meet his standards. For example- his favorite is color light blue, specifically, not just any blue.

Amri is a superhero. Not just in the games he plays (though in those, he is always the hero - never the bad guy, don't even try it) - but in the truest sense of the word.

At 3.5 years old, Amri lives with right-side hemi spastic cerebral palsy. It affects the right side of his body, but it has never once slowed down his spirit. He charges through life at the park making new friends within minutes, in the living room playing Spiderman, at the dinner table demanding noonles (noodles, for those not yet fluent in Amri) with a joy and a force that stops everyone around him in their tracks.

On June 1st, 2026, Amri will undergo Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) surgery a life-changing procedure that targets the nerve signals causing spasticity in his leg. This will take place at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, TX with our amazing surgeon, Dr. Shah.

It's a big surgery. It's a brave step. And it's the beginning of a new chapter in his journey toward greater movement, independence, and freedom.

He has four older siblings Mila, Priscilla, Joseph, and Aby who love him fiercely. Two dogs, Lola and Marshall, who probably love him even more. And a family that he has quietly, completely, and powerfully motivated every single day just by being himself.

This page is our way of bringing you along for the ride.

Follow his journey. Cheer him on. Wear the mission.

He's the superhero. We're just lucky to be in his story.
